I love speedboat rides. My family and friends don't. From seasickness to disinterest, it is hard to find someone to enjoy a speedboat ride with. But I happened to be in Ocean City, Maryland and I was determined to do an activity apart from sitting on the beach, dining, shopping, or walking around.

I made up my mind that I was going to give Sea Rocket Water Adventures a try.

Read on for my pros and cons of going on the Sea Rocket boat ride SOLO.

The Pros

1. I did it! And I enjoyed the ride. It is 100% possible to buy a ticket for yourself, grab a seat on the boat, and enjoy the salty air.

2. I saw lots of dolphins. Yes, the staff pointed them out, but I could see them jumping and it was soo cool.

3. The staff was very nice and professional. As the boat stopped, so we could see the dolphins, one lady asked if they could take a picture of her and her kids. The staff member did and then went around to offer to do the same for others.

4. I was videoing the dolphin sightings with my phone and that was no problem. I noticed many people just sitting back or talking but we could also use our phones to take pictures or videos.

5. The boat ride wasn't crazy fast and we didn't (or at least I didn't get wet). Maybe a splash here or there.

I think you needed to sit up front to get wet and as most of us were directed to sit in the main section of the boat; the front was likely something special you had to pay extra for. I probably would have preferred to sit up front to get splashes, so this is noted for next time!

6. The boat ride was about an hour long and I went on a warm, beautiful day!

The Cons

1. The price wasn't outrageous but it wasn't super cheap. I paid $20 some dollars and it would have been over $30 for sitting in the front. You'll also want to have a little cash on hand to tip at the end of the ride.

2. I don't think they get a lot of solo riders. When I went to the booth for a ticket, the lady looked surprised it was just for me. I also didn't hear about the different pricing for the front of the boat.

3. I was told to wait about 30 minutes for the boat before it came and it was an area with no shade on a hot day. As I was by myself, I didn't want to be stuck in a middle seat so I made sure to follow this. I did wind up getting an isle seat next to a mom and her daughters.

4. I wasn't super comfortable solo on this. I loved the actual ride but I could feel people looking at me especially because I had my phone out to record some of the ride to give me something to do (pointed towards the water, not at anyone).

The Ocean City Sea Rocket Speed Boat Ride was awesome! It was a nice long ride on a beautiful day with pleasant people and dolphin sightings. I would do it solo again but only if no one else wants to go. If you have family or friends even just a little willing to go, drag them on. There's a good chance they'll enjoy!
