One of the biggest decisions when planning a trip is deciding on where to stay. There's so many factors to consider: location, convenience, cost, amenities. As I was visiting Boston for the first time, I knew very little about the city. I knew I didn't want to rent a car. I also wanted to avoid Ubering everywhere. So I was left thinking about walkability and hotel shuttles. I had never been to the city before and wasn't set on seeing any particular attractions so I was fairly flexible about where I stayed as long as the transportation to and from the airport was there.

After doing some Googling, I came across the Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel. "This is perfect," I thought - I'll be able to walk to the hotel from the airport and that I did. After stopping a couple of airport employees and asking for directions, I was able to find the hotel.

My Arrival

I had finally made it. I was in the Hilton Hotel and was told my room would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. This was much earlier than my actual check-in, which was awesome. I had a heavy backpack with me that included a work laptop, so I was eager to sit on one of the comfy seats and put my bag down.

Help Needed

But first, I decided to use the time to ask about transportation getting to and from attractions. I saw some brochures so I started looking at one. I saw a baseball stadium tour, a few different trolley tours, a Boston Tea Party ship museum, and other attractions. What to do, what to do. I was only spending a couple days for this first trip in the city so I wanted to pick well.

A staff recommended recommended that I do the Old Town Trolley Tour for the attractions I was interested in and then gave me directions on how to get to the subway (catch the free shuttle from the hotel). From there, I'd be dropped off at the Airport subway stop and from there I would take the subway to the Aquarium stop where a stand would be to purchase a ticket for the trolley. She also gave me additional directions to attractions. That was all I needed! I was officially on my way to the trolley tour. But how was my stay at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel? Read on for my pros and cons.

Pros

1. The hotel is connected to the Boston Logan Airport via a sky bridge and walkways so there is no need to walk outside or catch an Uber. Soo convenient and stress-free - it took me about 10 minutes from my gate to get to the hotel.

2. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle to the airport and the metro. Really liked the safety and convenience of this!

3. I got some really good directions from a hotel staff member on how to get to attractions.  I was recommended to use the free hotel shuttle to get to the metro station. The hotel staff member answered my questions and was very helpful. This led to me wasting no time getting started on my first day in Boston. I was in the hotel a little after 11 a.m. and a little after 12, I was already off the metro on the Old Town Trolley Tour enjoying the outside air. Totally proud of myself for grabbing the subway MY FIRST DAY in Boston. Had I not asked about this at the hotel, my day in Boston likely would have been off to a much slower start.

3. I had no issues at the hotel. The room was nice, it was quiet, staff was helpful, and I didn't have any problems catching the shuttle, which pulled up right in front of the hotel.

4. The infinity indoor pool was ah-mazing! When I got in, I had it to myself. The pool water was a nice temperature and music was playing too which made it so enjoyable, I would book this hotel again just for the pool! Not to mention there was a locker room to change in next to the pool, which was very nice, so you don't have to walk up to your room all wet.

Cons

1. At over $200 per night, the hotel wasn't cheap but for me, the convenience and pool made it worth it.

2. There is no included or buffet breakfast. You'll need to order a la carte off the inside restaurant menu or get something quick at the coffee stand next to the restaurant. There's also not any walkable places like a Dunkin outside the hotel. You would have to walk back to the airport or hop on the metro.

The pros of this hotel like the convenience and pool, made staying here a win for me. As you might have guessed by now, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
