We were set to do a hike through the Daintree Rainforest but our guide surprised us. Who wants to go for a swim?

I always want to go for a swim! I didn't have my bathing suit with me though, but I thought I'd at least wade in.

Now don't think we swam at Cape Tribulation Beach. That is a no-no due to crocodiles and jellyfish that can be fatal.

We swam at a swimming hole and even our guide got in the water! I was able to wade in and the water was a rocky on the bottom where I really had to watch my steps. But who can resist swimming in the world's oldest tropical rainforest?

After our swim, we had a lunch buffet and then went on a hike through the Daintree. Read on for my pros and cons.

The Pros

1. The walk was peaceful and the guide pointed out some neat sights.

A grasshopper blending in with the leaf

2. We got to see Cape Tribulation Beach. I went down to touch the water (probably shouldn't have, the guide was nice and didn't call me out!) but of course, didn't get in.

The Cons

1. We didn't see a lot of wildlife on our walk.

2. You can't get in the water or swim at the beach and it looks like you can so it's very tempting.

If you are visiting North Queensland and like hiking, doing a guided tour to check out the world's oldest tropical rainforest, the Daintree is a must.
